Meanwhile, back at the ranch

With Deirdre still on the ten-day disabled list, Andre, Justin and I went crazy prepping the place for the drywall and insulation which will be blown-in cellulose fibres. The cathedral ceiling introduced challenges we hadn't considered in terms of insulation, but with a little creativity, we solved our issues. The first one was the insulation baffles which go against the roof underside to ensure proper ventilation. Not having installed them before we were "baffled". I thought they went on the underside of the trusses, in which case they should be 22 1/2" wide, but these were only 21" wide. So, I did what any self-respecting handy-woman would do, I went into town and went to the building supply and visited the chap who loves to play up that he knows stuff that I don't. In this case, it was actually true. But, not having the male ego of the other two on the site, it really was no problem for me.

So I returned to the site, safe in the knowledge that the baffles were the right size and that I was on the right track, but they get attached to the roof underside, not the trusses. Here they are installed.
